THE PRESIDENT OF THE LITHUANIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES

The President of the Academy of Sciences shall:

- head the activities of the Academy of Sciences and the Presidium; 
- chair the Assemblies of the Academy of Sciences and the sittings of the Presidium;
- govern the property and finances of the Academy of Sciences;
- control the activities of the institutions of the Academy of Science;
- represent the Academy of Sciences;
- employ and dismiss workers servicing the Academy of Sciences, announce competitions for vacancies, appoint persons to fill in these positions and dismiss them;
- sign legal acts, documents, agreements on behalf of the Academy of Sciences and fulfil other governing functions;
- submit an account on his activities at the meeting of the members of the Academy of Sciences.
