An Overview of covid-19 research projects prepared

The Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, in cooperation with the Research Council of Lithuania, has prepared the publication „COVID-19 pandemijos pamokos: moksliniai ir praktiniai aspektai“ (Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic: Scientific and Practical Aspects, in Lithuanian), which presents COVID-19 research projects implemented at various Lithuanian research institutions and funded by the Research Council of Lithuania.
To encourage researchers to join forces and find innovative solutions, the Research Council of Lithuania funded over 70 research projects to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences through a call for proposals between 2020 and 2022. Most of these projects are featured in the new publication, which is aimed not only at professionals but also at the general public. The publication consists of two volumes (volume 1 – 1 tomas, volume 2 – 2 tomas), each presenting projects in the social sciences, biomedical, and technological sciences. In addition to the descriptions of the projects, the authors provided visual summaries of their main results.
The lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and the insights provided by the researchers resulted in a Resolution containing recommendations for decision-makers on how to deal with similar crises in the future.
