The EFIS on Tour Symposium

The European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) and the Lithuanian Society for Immunology (LSI) organized the EFIS on Tour symposium, which took place on 17 May 2024 at the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. EFIS on Tour is a traditional event organised by the EFIS board that visits national societies, discusses their activities, and provides valuable recommendations. This was the first visit of the EFIS board to Lithuania.

 

This event was attended by Bojan Polic, EFIS President Elect, Andreas Radbruch, EFIS Past President, and other EFIS board members. In addition to representatives of EFIS and LSI, the event was attended by the representatives of Latvian and Estonian immunological societies, researchers working at various Lithuanian institutions, students, and PhD students. The programme of the symposium included presentations on the activities of Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian immunological societies, programmes to be financed by EFIS and the European Commission, and recent advances in immunology research. The symposium was followed by an informal discussion about the achievements, challenges, and future plans of Baltic immunological societies.
