On 6 February 2025, the Commission for Lithuanian Science Prizes announced the winners of the Lithuanian Science Prizes 2024.
In the field of the humanities and social sciences, the prize is awarded to Tamara Bairašauskaitė for the cycle of studies ‘Lithuanian society and the empire in the nineteenth century (2011–2023)’ (nominated by the Lithuanian Institute of History).
In the field of the natural sciences, the prize is awarded to two groups of scientists: Justas Dapkūnas, Darius Kazlauskas, Kliment Olechnovič, and Česlovas Venclovas for the cycle of studies ‘Development and application of protein structural bioinformatics methods (2010–2023)’ (nominated by Vilnius University) and to Juozas Vidas Gražulevičius, Jūratė Simokaitienė, and Dmytro Volyniuk for the research cycle ‘New materials and methods for improving the efficiency and stability of organic optoelectronic devices (2009–2023)’ (nominated by Kaunas University of Technology).
In the field of medical, health, and agricultural sciences, the prizes are awarded to Rūta Navakauskienė, Dalius Navakauskas, Veronika Viktorija Borutinskaitė, and Dalius Matuzevičius for the research cycle ‘Epigenetic and genetic biomarkers for disease diagnostics and personalised therapy: exploration of mechanisms, development of method, and field of application (2009–2023)’ (nominated by Vilnius University and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH)) and to Skaidrė Supronienė and Gražina Kadžienė for the cycle of studies ‘Population changes and ecological distribution of the causal agent of cereal ear fusariosis under the influence of changing climate and agricultural practices (2009–2023) (nominated by the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry)
In the field of technological sciences, the prize is awarded to Jonas Adamonis, Rimantas Budriūnas, Andrejus Michailovas, Tomas Stanislauskas, and Arūnas Varanavičius for their research and development studies ‘High power multi-optical cycle pulse sources for extreme light technologies (2009–2023) (nominated by Vilnius University, Centre for Physical Sciences and Technology, UAB Light Conversion, and UAB Ekspla).
